Alumni Gathering Held at General Seminary [PHOTOS]


On November 4-5, 2015, The General Theological Seminary held its annual Alumni Gathering. More than 50 registrants joined the days of meetings, worship services and social gatherings which were described as "a community of scholarship, worship, and friendship on the Close." The program included the 2015 Paddock LecturesThe Goodness of Upheaval: Pauline and Apocalyptic Perspectives, presented by the Rev. Todd H. W. Brewer, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of New Testament, and the Rev. Michael Battle, Ph.D., Herbert Thompson Professor of Church and Society and Director of The Desmond Tutu Center, as well as:

  • Alumni Conversation: "Building the Future: A Conversation about Integrated Curriculum and Formation" with the Rev. Ellen Tillotson '83 and the Rev. Michael Bird '97, members of General's Board of Trustees

  • The Memorial Eucharist with the Presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award to the Very Rev. H. Scott Kirby '63
